Get the mod

What you need

Your own copy of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike for PS2 (US, v1.0). From it you need one file, SF33RD.AFS. The mod is a free patch: it turns that file into PUMP FIGHTERS on your device. We don't host or send any game files.

Where do I find SF33RD.AFS?
  1. Make a disc image (ISO) of your own PS2 disc.
  2. Open the image with 7-Zip (or mount it) and copy THIRD/SF33RD.AFS out of it.
  3. The right file is 642,492,416 bytes. The patcher checks it before it changes anything.

Play on PSP or in PPSSPP

Android, iPhone, PC or a real PSP.

  1. Make the modded file: open the patch page, pick your SF33RD.AFS, save the modded one.
  2. Get EBOOT.PBP from the 3s-psp project, the PSP port of 3rd Strike.
  3. Put them in your memory stick like this:

  4. Open PPSSPP and start the game. Landscape works best on a phone.

Android: PPSSPP shows its memory stick folder under Settings › System. iPhone: Files › On My iPhone › PPSSPP.

Patch it yourself

Download the patch files and run the patcher (Node 18+).

Your original file is only read, never changed. Every step is checked with SHA-256.

Is it free?

Yes. The mod and the patcher are free and open source on GitHub.

Does my game file get uploaded?

No. The browser player and the patch page work on your device. The file never leaves it.

What changes, what stays?

New fighters (every sprite frame redrawn), portraits, names, HUD plates, logo and opening. The moves, hitboxes, stages, music, sound and AI are 3rd Strike's own.

Can you send me the game?

No. You need your own copy. Please don't ask for game files or links to them.
